IMONOLITH Announces Weekly Quarantine Sessions With Tracks Off New Album “State of Being”

By Agile Collaborator

All-star modern metal band Imonolith released their highly anticipated debut album "State of Being" this past March. Like many bands in the music industry, they have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic and were forced to cancel their European tour dates in March and April.

While the guys have isolated themselves at home, they're still in daily contact with each other, keeping their creative juices flowing. Even though they are separated across the globe from each other, the members of Imonolith have been able to put together something special for fans entitled "The Quarantine Sessions".

Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen explains in further detail:

"It’s tough times for everyone world-wide with COVID-19. The music industry and bands world-wide have literally been shut down from touring, from doing press tours and anything to do with public appearances. The one thing COVID-19 has not disrupted is the Internet and Social Media. Many bands are getting creative and doing live stream concerts and more….

Imonolith has come up with the ‘Quarantine Sessions' for our supporters in correlation with our debut album release 'State of Being', which came out on March 27th, 2020. What are the ‘Quarantine Sessions'? They are videos released on our YouTube page, each Monday at 8am PST of the full band playing through a song on our debut album. We will be releasing a new song every Monday until we have finished all 10 songs on our album. Then on every Tuesday, at 9am PST we will be doing a 'Quarantine Session Live Feed' on our Instagram page to talk about the song we released on Monday. We’ll go into many behind-the-scenes specifics about each song we release and do a live Q&A with you all. Let's hang, have some fun and catch up, while self-isolating at home during these challenging times!

This is our Quarantine offering to our loyal and new supporters to show how we play our material and to be able to chat with you all, albeit in Quarantine from our homes. This is Self Isolation at it’s finest while helping flatten the curve of COVID-19. Finding the positive in the negative ;)

Tune in on Mondays for our new video and see you on Tuesdays for our live feed discussion. Be safe out there!"

All-Star Quintet IMONOLITH Release’s Highly Anticipated Debut, “State of Being,” Available Today

By Agile Collaborator

The highly anticipated debut album from all-star modern metal band IMONOLITH, State of Being, is available today!

“All of us in IMONOLITH are beyond excited to release our debut album ‘State of Being,’” says drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen. “We spent the better part of a year recording, mixing and mastering it, along with getting the art together. It was important for us to get the whole package done the way we envisioned it. We set our standards high and are stoked on the final results.”

Featuring drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project) guitarist Brian ‘Beav’ Wadell (Devin Townsend Project), Jon Howard (Threat Signal), guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) and Scott Whalen (Econoline Crush), IMONOLITH is a collective of heavy hitting players at the top of their game. State of Being also features special guest appearances from Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) and famed Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström,

State of Being is made up of 10 hook-laden, riff-heavy tracks that center around the theme of how people deal with various stages of life. Having spent much of 2019 writing, arranging, recording and fine-tuning State of Being, the Canadian metal powerhouse worked incredibly hard to achieve their goal - to make an engaging heavy metal album.

“The album itself is a journey,” Van Poederooyen says. “You’ll have your mix of heaviness, catchiness, crushing riffs, driving beats, and versatile vocals. We focused primarily on writing the best songs we could to leave our listeners wanting more and to prepare them for an energetic live show.”

The album has already seen the release of four singles and videos - “Hollow,” the 2019 debut single that made big waves, racking up 216K Spotify streams, “Instinct,” “Dig”; and the most recent single, “Becoming the Enemy.” With the release of these singles, IMONOLITH has already received worldwide praise that has garnered them a massive number of streams and attention from the media and fans alike. Now in its second week, “Becoming the Enemy” is currently #14 on the NACC Heavy chart. The track was the fifth most added on its first week.

IMONILITH’s first European tour, scheduled to coincide with the release of State of Being, was recently postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the band remains optimistic about future touring.

Says Van Poederooyen,“We’re looking forward to supporting this release through touring everywhere and anywhere we can. Stay posted for announcements and details at www.imonolithband.com, which is also the place to purchase our CD, vinyl and merchandise. Thanks for your support. We look forward to making this debut album cycle one hell of a ride for ourselves and especially for those supporting us worldwide!”

What the media has been saying about IMONOLITH:

“A force to be reckoned with.” - Metal Hammer

“Given the members’ diverse musical backgrounds, IMONOLITH don’t fit any obvious metal genre tag. Van Poederooyen and Wadell bring elements of prog, while Howard’s vocals are rooted in the metalcore and extreme metal.” – Consequence of Sound

“‘State of Being’ is built on a backbone of pure heaviness, hard-hitting riffs and irresistible hooks which keep the album burning at high intensity from start to finish.” – Sonic Perspectives

“Those looking for something that knows how to groove hard, offer a catchy chorus, or knock you flat on your back over the course of an album will find ‘State of Being’ to be an immersive listen.” – Dead Rhetoric

“A winning combination that works perfectly.” - The Rock Pit

Update regarding European/UK Tour

By Agile Collaborator

We’re extremely disappointed to report the postponement of our European/UK tour, in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We had every intention of doing the tour until it was rendered impossible by mass gathering restrictions in most of the cities we were playing. We also do not want to put the band, our crew and our supporters in any danger of catching the virus.

We are looking to reschedule all EU/UK dates for later this year, please stay posted for further details.

Stay safe out there everyone.

IMONOLITH Reveals Fourth Single from Highly Anticipated “State of Being” Debut Album

By Agile Collaborator

Watch the Lyric Video for “Becoming the Enemy” via Consequence of Sound

First-Ever UK/EU Headline Tour Set to Begin March 27

Canadian metal powerhouse IMONOLITH has revealed a fourth single, “Becoming the Enemy,” featuring a guest appearance by well-known Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström, from their upcoming debut, State of Being, due out March 27.

A lyric video for “Becoming the Enemy” is available today via Consequence of Sound HERE: Imonolith Unveil “Becoming the Enemy” Featuring Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström: Stream

“’Becoming the Enemy’ is a song about becoming your own worst enemy,” says drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen. “All of us have done it at some point of our lives. The point of the song lyrically is to learn from your mistakes instead of repeating them over and over.”

The lyric video for “Becoming the Enemy” features a character called ‘The Sickness,” who reprises his role from the “Instinct” video, released in January.

“We continue the theme we started in ‘Instinct,’” RVP explains. “The theme of our album ‘State of Being’ is about how people deal with various states of being throughout their lives. We thought having ‘The Sickness’ appear in a couple videos would help tie everything together and tell a visual story to go along with the album as a whole.”

The forthcoming full-length State of Being features 10 hook-laden, riff-heavy tracks including “Hollow,” the debut single that made big waves for IMONOLITH straight out of the gate, racking up 216K Spotify streams in 2019. Having spent much of 2019 writing, arranging, recording and fine-tuning State of Being, the band worked incredibly hard to achieve their goal - to make an engaging heavy metal album. With the release of the three singles thus far, IMONOLITH has begun receiving worldwide praise that has garnered them a massive number of streams and attention from the media and fans alike.

IMONOLITH Unleash Next Single "Dig" From Forthcoming Debut Album + UK/EU Headline Tour

By Agile Collaborator

'State of Being' Out March 27th; Guest Features Include Jens Kidman (Meshuggah)

Canadian metal powerhouse IMONOLITH are unveiling their third single "Dig" in support of their highly anticipated forthcoming debut album 'State of Being' due out March 27th.

With the release of their two previous singles "Instinct" and "Hollow", IMONOLITH have been receiving worldwide praise that has garnered them a massive amount of streams and attention from the media. Their debut album also includes two very special guest performances from Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) and Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström.

"Dig" happens to be one of the bands favourite songs on the album. It has a hypnotic pulse throughout, crushing guitar riffs and some well delivered heavy vocals from Jon Howard.

“Lyrically the song is about people who ruin their relationships with others, through their poor decisions. The point lyrically is that you can move on from this type of person, learn a lesson from the situation, let go of the negativity involved and let them deal with the shit show they’ve created. In the end, these people dig their own ‘relationship' graves by burning bridges with others in their lives.” says drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen.
